The issue is that once you have identified your goals, they may not have the expertise or right kind of approach you want or need.
Some coaches who commit to continuous professional development, who have a long-standing professional history that transcends different fields and industries, become defined as a Master Coach.
This can be evidenced by proven experience within specialist fields, their qualifications, references etc, or by going through an accrediting process with a recognised body, for example The International Coaching Federation (ICF).
Remembering that all educated coaches are trained with a core set of skills, the following are some areas a coach may choose to specialise in. This may be because of the people they want to work with, their career backgrounds or professional passion.

• Honor your innate wisdom and desire for your child to be secure

The Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) program is an outstanding choice for both parents/caregivers and professionals dedicated to enabling the continuous fostering of secure attachments and emotional resilience in children into adulthood.
This program is educational and inspiring, serves parents and caregivers who want to develop themselves as individuals or those who are struggling and are seeking solutions that will support their journey through services like health, childrens services or family court.
Here's why:
Understanding Attachment:
COSP is rooted in decades of attachment research, providing a clear and accessible framework for understanding children's emotional worlds. It demystifies the often complex behaviors children exhibit, helping parents and caregivers see the need beneath the behaviour.
Enhancing Emotional Intelligence: By focusing on emotional intelligence, COSP equips parents and caregivers with the skills to understand their children's emotional needs, respond sensitively, and build a foundation for healthy emotional development.
Promoting Security:
Security is the cornerstone of the COSP program. A secure base from which to explore and a safe haven to return to are fundamental to a child's development. COSP helps caregivers provide this consistency, which is crucial for children's confidence and self-esteem.
Strengthening Relationships:
The program emphasizes the importance of nurturing a strong, secure relationship between the child and parent or caregiver. This bond is the most significant protective factor in a child's life, influencing their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Empowering Parents and Caregivers:
COSP empowers parents and caregivers by validating their experiences and providing practical strategies to manage parenting challenges. It promotes self-reflection, helping caregivers understand their own attachment histories and how these may impact their parenting.
Professional Solutions:
For professionals, COSP offers a robust framework for supporting families. It has become a solution to meeting the needs of childrens services, i.e. child protection, fostering, adoption and disability teams. It has also become a preferred referral pathway for legal teams, family court and health practitioners.
Our COSP team are licensed facilitators who have backgrounds in professional careers, for example, mental health, health and social services.
COSP has become a widely recognised intervention that reinforces the importance of relationship-based practice, a proven method to reinforce empathy, empowered parenting and positive attachment.
Evidence-Based:
COSP is an evidence-based program with a proven track record of improving outcomes for children and families. It's backed by research showing its effectiveness in increasing parent and caregiver sensitivity and child security.
The COSP program provides an alignment with the needs identified within ACE’s (Adverse Childhood Experiences) By focusing on strengthening the parent-child relationship and fostering secure attachments, COSP can mitigate the long-term effects of ACEs.
Flexibility and Accessibility:
The program is designed to be flexible and accessible, making it suitable for a wide range of families and professionals. It is proven to be adapted to different cultural contexts, ensuring its principles are universally applicable.
Community Building:
COSP fosters a sense of community among participants. Caregivers and professionals share experiences and support each other, creating a network that extends the benefits of the program beyond individual families.
Long-Term Benefits:
The positive effects of secure attachments last a lifetime. Children who feel secure are more likely to develop into compassionate, empathetic adults. By investing in COSP, parents, caregivers and professionals are contributing to a healthier, more secure family and in turn community.
In conclusion, the Circle of Security Parenting program stands out as a comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based approach to enhancing child-caregiver relationships. Its focus on security, emotional intelligence, and practical strategies makes it an invaluable resource for anyone invested in the well-being of children.
Whether you're a parent seeking to deepen your connection with your child or a professional aiming to support families effectively, COSP offers the tools and insights necessary to make a lasting positive impact.
